The Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) is bringing its FIRST certification training directly to pressrooms, design departments and converting facilities with the launch of on-site FIRST Live Level I training.

Designed to provide foundational knowledge in flexographic printing, FIRST Live Level I: Introduction to Flexography, is now available as an in-person training experience — delivered at the customer’s facility by an FTA-certified instructor. The new offering is available to any company in the industry and is ideal for groups as small as five employees.

“Flexographic printers and suppliers have told us they want practical, hands-on training that doesn’t require travel,” said Kenny Tucker, FTA’s director of technical education. “This new format brings the value of FIRST certification directly to them—on their schedule, in their facility, with real-time engagement.”

The program covers key concepts such as flexo terminology, printing press components, ink and substrate basics, and print quality evaluation. Companies can use this on-site training to onboard new hires, reinforce internal standards, or build a shared understanding of best practices across teams.
